Tom Short / Managing Principal
Lone Arch was founded by Tom and focuses on the acquisition and management of real estate properties with a primary focus on Class A/B multifamily properties in high growth, sun-belt markets. Tom has 15+ years of real estate experience in the areas of acquisitions/dispositions, development, asset management, due diligence, financial analysis, market research, and portfolio management. He has directly worked on over $2.5 billion of real estate transactions in his career, including 11,500 multifamily units. Throughout his career, he has had significant experience with institutional and institutionally sophisticated equity and debt partners.
Tom was previously a partner at Magma Equities and was vital in growing their portfolio from 1,400 units to 6,400 units and partnering with institutional equity partners. Prior to Magma, he worked within the US Real Estate Fund group at Harbert Management Corporation. Prior to being at HMC, he began his career at Clarion Partners.
Tom earned a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and lives in Dallas with his wife and 3 children.
Tyler Brown / Managing Principal
Mr. Brown has 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Tyler has been involved in the acquisition, financing, and asset management of over $10 Billion in real estate throughout his career.
Most recently Tyler was the Head of Real Estate Acquisitions – USA at Franklin Templeton, one of the world’s largest money managers with over $1.5 Trillion in assets under management (NYSE: BEN). Tyler was responsible for sourcing value-added commercial real estate throughout the country and across all major property types. Prior to Franklin Templeton, Tyler was a Vice President in real estate acquisitions at Garrison Investment Group (now HPS Partners) a private equity firm based in New York, NY.
In addition to his real estate career, Tyler was a co-founder of Lone River Beverage Company, makers of Lone River Ranch Water. Tyler helped steer Lone River to a successful acquisition by Diageo (NYSE: DEO) 11 months after launch.
Tyler received a BBA and BA from Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he majored in Finance and Anthropology. Currently Tyler lives in Fort Worth with his wife and 2 daughters.
Michael Osburn / Director of Construction
Mr. Osburn oversees all aspects of construction and assists with due diligence and underwriting at Lone Arch. He has directly worked on over $3.3 billion in development, acquisitions, and capital improvements in 20 markets and 2 countries since March 2020. His experience and role spans multiple private equity funds, family offices, and operators with their developments and acquisitions across the US. His construction experience and knowledge reaches across all product types with expertise in multifamily and industrial. Michael BE from Vanderbilt University and MSE from the University of Texas. Michael is an avid golfer and lives in Dallas with wife and 2 children.
